How this is calculated
Your entry is parsed as a plain decimal (e.g. "12.5"), a bare fraction ("3/16"), or a mixed whole-and-fraction ("7 3/8"), then converted to metres internally (1 ft = 0.3048 m, 1 in = 0.0254 m) before being converted out to every unit shown below.
The fractional-inch column rounds to the nearest 1/16", which matches a standard tape measure — for tighter tolerances, use the decimal inch or metric columns instead.
